Lawrence Cooper, M.D. is president and CEO of Bentley Investments, Inc. He was formerly national president of OnCare, Inc. and remains president of the medical Oncology Hematology Group, P.C. He was a founder and managing partner of Atlanta Cancer Care. Before entering private practice he was a research fellow at Emory University in Hematology-Oncology. He did his undergraduate studies at Swathmore College in Pennsylvania where he was a Mertz Scholar, and he received the LIAA M.D., PhD. Fellowship at Emory where he completed his medical training.
Dr. Cooper has taught and served on boards of a wide range of professional organizations. He is a member and past president of the Medical Association of Atlanta, the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Georgia Medical Care Foundation and the American Community Cancer Centers. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Georgia Intellectual Capital Partnership Program, and the Georgia Research Alliance.
Larry is truly a deserving recipient of the Chamber Founders Award. An active member of AICC for the past 10 years, he was instrumental in planning the Georgia Technology & Trade Mission to Israel in 2000, led by then-Governor Roy Barnes. He is a past president of the American–Israel Educational Institute and past chairman of the board of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce. He continues to advocate for Israeli companies and has advised several from the Life Sciences.
