AICC is proud to present the 2007 Community Partner Award to Delta Air Lines in recognition of their establishing air service between Atlanta to Tel Aviv, a long-term major objective of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce.  Since beginning these non-stop, daily flights in March 2006, there has been a rapid increase of business and tourism travel and air cargo movement both ways between the Southeast and Israel.  Through a strong marketing campaign in Israel, Delta has raised awareness among the Israeli business leadership of the prominence of Atlanta, and is regularly cited by them as a major reason for considering investments and business relationships in the region.

As Georgia’s largest private employer, the company has been at the center of the community’s push to international prominence, and is a leader and supporter of many cultural, educational, philanthropic, and economic development initiatives.  Delta Air Lines has been a sponsor of every major event of AICC for the past two years, and key executives are actively involved in Chamber committees, the board of directors, and on the Strategic Plan.  The Community Partner Award will be accepted on behalf of Delta Air Lines by their chief operating officer, Jim Whitehurst.
